Now I’m going to kind of turn this on its head a little because in the past, I have been teaching this to clients.  That it’s possible.  It’s a thing.  It’s real.  And when we are not in balance, we are inharmonious and at the mercy of life’s constant demands.  It’s something to aspire to, it’s right to want to achieve.  Well, I don’t actually believe that anymore.  And here’s why …

Firstly, balance in life is always a very delicate balancing act in itself.  And it’s fluid – life has its ups and downs and sometimes, we need to give time to certain things in life that go unplanned such as a sick child.  No-one ever plans for or expects to have a sick child, but sometimes it happens and other things in life will take a back seat for a short (hopefully) period of time.  Life balance is an ongoing process – not purely a means to an end.  Remembering that life a journey because the destination is the same for us all (depending on what you believe in of course).

In life – for us all – there are 7 fundamental areas that we give our time and attention to.  These are as follows:

  • Relationships;
  • Love life;
  • Home life;
  • Career/Business/Education;
  • Money and finances, wealth and prosperity;
  • Physical health and wellness and self-care;
  • Creativity and having fun.

Now would you not agree that it is not possible to equally divide all of these 7 areas into a 24 hour period?  Firstly, when you add in eating and sleeping – then of course it isn’t.  But sometimes you are going to come across times, as I highlighted above that require your extra time and attention such as busy times with work, moving house, illness, money concerns etc.  It’s called life and when you look at it on a cardiograph – it’s meant to be up and down.  If it’s flatlining, then you’re part way to being dead!  No-one wants to move through life purely existing.  We all want quality relationships and connections with others, we all want to love and be loved, we all desire a harmonious home life, we all want to be successful in work and earn an income reflective of that, we all want to be healthy and well and we all want to have fun.  That is just part of all of our DNA.

So what if I said to you that life – in all of its highs and lows, ups and downs – was in fact balance?  What if I said it is not something to pursue but something to be mindful of – the here and now.  It is more a question of your values and your beliefs.  If you believe it is important to spend the majority of your time with family, then you are living in balance.  If you believe it is more important work and it’s not harming anyone around you, then there you are.  So long as what you are doing is not in anyway harming anyone but doing something in excess, then doing the best you can with what you have is enough.

You are enough.  You have enough right now.  You are being enough.  Life is a process, a journey.  Self discovery.  It’s not really productive to helpful or useful to constantly want to strive for something that simply already exists.  The constant striving alone will render you helpless as the Universe/God/Spirit feels your vibration of want and keeps you exactly in that space.  So embrace life!  Know that a tough time is merely transitional and do your best and be kind to yourself.  Be content and grateful and thankful.  Because that is the joy of life.  If you would like a copy of my “Life Balance Wheel” – just reach out.
