And I don’t apologize if you’re an atheist reading this and have already turned off.  This is a law of the Universe that applies to all of us, whether your believe it, understand it or not. Perhaps it could also worded as payback.  Whatsoever you sow, you shall reap.  The more you sow, the more you’ll reap.  Life is full of laws, is it not?  The Law of Attraction is a big one, the Law of Gravity is another and so on and so forth.  Most of these laws govern and explain behaviours but the law of sowing and reaping is up there as one of the most important to understand and harness – for every disciplined effort, there are multiple rewards.

Everything that is valuable requires focus, passion and discipline.  Thoughts require focus, passion and discipline.  Eating healthy requires focus, passion and discipline.  Preparing for the Olympics requires massive amounts of focus, passion and discipline.  There is no escaping this fact.  With regards to our thoughts, it’s important to understand that we must consistently determine our innermost values and beliefs otherwise we will be carried away in the craziness of life.  And unclear values and beliefs lead to unclear thoughts that will produce unclear results.

So let’s get serious here – life is not a dress rehearsal now is it?  If you neglect discipline, there will be an equal and opposite reaction to that.  It’s Law.  Even negative experiences in life always bring something positive – you just have to learn how to recognize it.  And from each positive thought, discipline, action, habit – there is usually a very handsome reward waiting for you.  If you’re inclined to toss clothes on the floor, what makes you think you’ll look after other areas of your life?  How can you keep your business clean, if your house is a mess?  Lack patience with your kids’, how will you be patient with your clients?  You cannot inspire others to do something when it is inconsistent with your own conduct and incongruent with your values.

So let this be a motivation or a warning – our lives serve as one or the other.  The consequences of neglect, self-pity, lack of direction, ambition etc will end in tears.  Alternately, daily discipline can be magnified in various areas of your life.  So next time you don’t keep your credit card spending under control, you yell at your kids, leave the bins overflowing, clothes all over the floor – look at the areas of your life you want to see improvement in.  I bet they stay that way until you can fully understand and appreciate the law of sowing and reaping.  For every good turn will deserve way more.  Short and shiny but powerful stuff nonetheless.
