How often have we heard this old cliché? But it’s so true. It all comes down to priorities at the end of the day. When we want something badly enough, we will find a way to get it. Irrespective of what that thing is. No obstacle is too big.
Consider a toddler. And if you’re not a parent, perhaps go to a playground or supermarket and watch one. When a toddler has their mind and heart set on something, watch out! Because they WILL NOT GIVE UP!!! They are the best sales people in the world – I kid you not! They will use every method in the book to get what they want – anything from consistent nagging, guilt, persistence, blackmail and when those tactics don’t work, it usually progresses to screaming tantrums. If you’re a parent, I’m guessing you are laughing reading this because you know what I’m talking about here. But then what happened to us as adults? What killed that naked determination that we had as children?
Network Marketing really is the perfect soil for propagating this attitude too. If you’ve been in the industry a while like me then you’ve heard the stories. And there are so many of them. The one about the single Dad whose car was repossessed and had barely enough money to put food on the table. He got started knowing full well that really was his last and probably only chance to really ‘make it’. So he makes a decision that he is going to make this work no matter what and goes ‘all in’. I’m sure you’ve heard these kinds of stories. And guess what? That same guy is now a top income earner with his company. No surprises there, right?
Success leaves clues and this is a huge one. If you get started with a company and have the attitude of “I’ll just see how things go” or “I’ll give it a go for 6 months and if I’m not making $10k a month, I’m out” or worse still “I’ll just give this a try while I’m searching for something better”. Do you really think having that kind of attitude is going to deliver long term rewards? Seriously?
It’s time to get real and take a stand. How committed are you to your company, the industry and to yours and your families future and those on your team? If your “why” for doing this is not big enough, then I’m sorry to say but you will continue to struggle. But if you got started knowing that this is it, you are going to keep going ‘until’, you are going to make it no matter what and you will never quit, then congratulations, you will find a way and you will find the success you are working towards.
