We’ve all been there. We have a day of seemingly endless negative people. And we find that the more we experience it, the more comes. That my friends is the Law of Attraction at play. But what if we could turn that around almost instantly? You can!!

Below I share 10 strategies on how to shift yourself from negative energy to positive very, very quickly. Now you obviously don’t have to utilize all 10 at once – if just applying 1 works – fantastic! But some days’ we may need all 10. Up to you.

  1. Eat a correct balanced diet. This helps feed your mind. Junk in junk out. Don’t reach for the lollies, chips, chocolates if you are having a bad day. All these do is exacerbate depression and anxiety. Instead, reach for a healthy juice – like spinach, kale, mixed berries, protein powder and a banana with coconut water. It will do wonders for your energy levels and releases serotonin – the ‘feel good’ chemical.
  2. Exercise. A good dose of fresh air can do wonders for the soul on its own by quietening the mind – helping you to find solutions to problems. Exercise releases endorphins which reduces anxiety, depression and increases feelings of self-esteem. It’s the best anti-depressant there is! Try it!!
  3. Routine. In particular good sleep habits improve mental sharpness, performance, emotional wellbeing and energy. Routine can also assist in decreasing stress levels and improved mental health. Maintaining a routine gives us a feeling of safety and predictability and assists also with memory.
  4. Stick to work times. Make sure you block out times in your diary specifically for work. This will eliminate distractions and allow you to focus more effectively and efficiently. Take 5 minutes’ off in every hour for mindfulness – meditating I find very useful.
  5. Take action. Be a person of action. No point in spending a morning cleaning your desk and moving paper from this space to that space. That’s not productive. Be decisive, be clear and then act. No point in thinking about what you really want without it. Nothing will fall in your lap.
  6. Sleep. Make sure you are getting 7 – 9 hours’ per night. Every night. This is “Obvious 101”.
  7. Remove frictions and distractions. Once you identify a problem, deal with it. Swiftly. Don’t allow anything to linger. If you’ve had a disagreement with someone, take the moral high ground and be the first to apologize.
  8. Consider other perspectives. We tend to look at everything from our own point of view. But there is always another perspective. Consider it from the other person’s view, then remove yourself from both and consider it from an Observer’s point of view. Think about that one.
  9. Have faith. Always believe that the good stuff is coming your way. And it always will.
