Welcome to my new website and new niche!  It was a huge decision to take my coaching practice in another direction and I thought I would share a little about my journey which has taken me to this point in my career.

Firstly, I could not be more excited!  And it came to me quite out of the blue too I must admit.  So where do I start without boring you my lovely reader to tears.  On May 17 my husband and youngest son travelled to Sweden and then onto Denmark for just over 2 weeks’.  Hubby was working in Stockholm, Antwerp and Copenhagen and we tagged alone unimaginably excited to see family and friends’ we haven’t seen since June 2019.  It was such an incredibly cathartic experience being able to not just be with those we loved and missed so much, but to be able to hold them and tell them exactly what they mean to us.  You can only say so much and with real meaning over Zoom.  And aren’t we all a little over Zoom.  Lol  It was so incredibly special and I had made several intentions before we departed.  Telling our family and friends’ how much we missed them and loved them was one.  The other was to get my businesses in order.  Not that they were in a mess pe se – but I felt as though there was something seriously missing with my coaching practice.  I didn’t feel as though I was delivering quality content to my audience that was hitting the mark and that my audience was in fact not really listening to anything I had to say.  Time for some big changes!  And the beginning of that was the move into a new niche.

I am so super grateful to my in-laws for taking my youngest son for a few days’ so I could lock myself in a hotel room and really peel back some onion layers and get to work.  Whilst hubby was working at a conference nearby, I was able to do a lot of thinking.  Recently I finished reading “Lucky Bitch” by Denise Duffield-Thomas.  And I’ll be honest – I am a huge fan.  I read her books a bit about face – I actually read “Get Rich Lucky Bitch” a few months’ when really I should have read them in the other order.  Doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things.  Listening to Denise narrate her books, I quite honestly saw myself in her story.  We grew up in similar households raised by single Mothers with not much money around.  We’ve both come from Corporate backgrounds, moved far away from home and done the long and hard grind.  We’ve both gone through periods in our lives where we were just winning everything – yes really.  As I listened further into “Lucky Bitch” there was a thought that just kept coming up for me – “so she is a little bit younger than me and she has gone on to create a multiple 7 figure business after growing up very much the same – so what the hell am I doing wrong???”  I am about to start her next round of “Money Bootcamp” and couldn’t stop thinking to myself how bloody brilliant and clever her brand and niche is and how on earth can I do the same.  And then quite literally out of thin hair – BOOM!  It came to me.

Yes everyone wants more money.  But what most people – especially women – really want is to create a freaking awesome lifestyle, be able to do the work that gratifies the soul whilst being able to pretty much do what you want, with whom and when.  And hasn’t it become a bit of a mantra during the Pandemic??  Especially here in Australia – in particular where I live Victoria – where we were living under Stay at Home Orders for nearly 10 months’.  Many were forced to work from home and what did that create?  More time!!  Now with many being forced back into the office with restrictions being lifted, women especially are wondering if it really is possible to have it all.  And I have been listening.  Don’t we all want to go away on holidays whenever we want without having to get the boss to sign it off?  We want to be able to catch up with that friend we haven’t seen in ages for coffee at our favourite little café without having to clock watch.  We want to be more present for our kids’ – especially when they are either sick or have a school event on.  Women more so than men feel the tinges of guilt with going to the office than Dads.  Sorry Dads – no disrespect there.  It’s just the way our culture has been indoctrinated.  The husband goes out to work to support the family and the wife stays home and cares for the household and kids’.  But times have changed.  We are no longer living in the 1950s – contrary to popular belief (hopefully the sarcasm was noted).  And we bloody well want it all!  We want the successful career and earn what we are worth.  We want to be the best Mum we can be and the supportive and sexy wife.  We want to be able to catch up with our friends’ and be there for them when they need us.  And we want to engage in our hobbies without any fear of guilt.  And we can do and have it all – without needing a household of staff to make it all happen either.  Having said that,  I do love my gardener and housekeepers …  I digress …

So what is different between those annoying women who appear to have it all – you know, the gorgeous supportive husband (think Celeste Barber and “Hot Husband”), the super successful career and million dollar lifestyle working from anywhere and being an Instagram Influencer (think Kim Kardashian), the ‘supermodel’ figure even after kids’ (think Giselle Bundchen) and being adored by kagillions – aka Paris Hilton.  Now I know I am using extreme examples here and at the end of the day it’s all relative, but YES my lovely – you really can have all of that and THEN SOME!!  It all comes down to what YOU think is possible.  So there’s a bit of a hint – work/life balance really is an attitude more so than a concrete ‘thing’.  It’s what you believe which stems from your values system.  And yep – there can be a lot of onion layers to peel back with that but as with anything worthwhile in life – it’s a journey and maybe today for you it begins.  I’ll be honest though, I absolutely am in LOVE with the term Paris Hilton came up with #sliving …

Recently I was able to support a client realize a $26k p.a. pay increase owing to her just having the guts to tell her boss that she didn’t want to return to the office and work 12 hour days’.  She wanted to keep going to the gym first thing in the mornings, get her coffee before work, walk around her local lake and finally get around to finding the man of her dreams.  She had spent most of her working career giving up on all of that but the Pandemic really allowed her the space to start considering what it was that she really wanted in life.  You can read more about her story here on the site.  It’s powerful and just shows how someone had spent decades giving up her life for work but then came to the realization that there’s more to it than producing a profit for the boss.  She started that work with me and manifested precisely what she wanted after just 90 days’.  How bloody thrilling is that?!  And that is now my life’s work.

Is this a journey you wish to begin?  It will be bumpy I will warn you.  It will be uncomfortable, confronting, challenging, frustrating and downright sometimes demoralizing but so very worth it.  You have to be willing to do the work on YOU first and foremost to get where you want to go.  Is that something you’re willing to do?  If so, I would love to hear from you and what you want to create in life.  Join me on this journey of empowering women to creating lifestyles they love with authenticity.
