I read another very interesting article today on writing a successful article – funnily enough.
I certainly won’t purport to being some kind of writing ‘guru’ or ‘genius’ at all. I just write whatever is on my heart in the moment. But something definitely resonated with me. I feel we don’t ask ourselves these questions often enough: what, when, why, how, who. They are very fundamental questions, however I feel asking ourselves these questions fairly often will help solve some of our own frustrations and yearnings. And I just love keeping things simple.
The title of this article can apply to anything in your life, but it’s an essential question to ask oneself when one gets started in a network marketing business especially. I NEVER get anyone started unless they can explain to me in pretty good detail as to why they are starting a new business venture. And earning more money just doesn’t cut it for me. It has to be more about what they are going to do with more money. Some want to take their kids to Disneyland, others want to start an orphanage in Romania, others want to semi-retire or fully retire their hard working husbands, some want to be debt-free and open up a whole new life of choice for them. Obviously it’s different for everyone, but to work with me, you have to have a damn good reason – not just because you want to earn a few extra dollars.
So why do I do what I do?
I’m sure you are probably wondering this. And I haven’t really talked much about it before but if you read my “About Fiona” page then I’m sure you will have a fairly basic understanding of what I’m about. I call myself a “Network Marketing Evangelist” mainly because I want to stand in the gap between the many Networkers who love what they do and are sick and tired of the stigma this industry has endured for so long and don’t really know what to do about it and all of those skeptics and cynics out there who are absolutely and utterly convinced that MLM is a scam (and seem to be rather vocal about it too). Someone has to stand in that gap and it might as well be me! Personally, I just don’t care what people say about our industry anymore and I’m loud and proud about it. I tell people straight up – “I run a Network Marketing business from home in the health, wellness and biotechnology industry and I love it!” I’m not much of a debater, however I will stand up to any ignoramus who tries to start an argument about what I’m doing is illegal and I should be reported. I kind of feel sorry for people like that because they are just so incredibly uninformed, negative and living in the past. It’s sad being so close minded – especially in this day and age – as there are so many opportunities that could potentially be falling by their wayside. But, at the end of the day – it’s their loss.
I’m incredibly passionate not only about the industry, my company and building my own business (I love every bit of it), but I am committed to building an army of people who feel the same.
An army of people equally willing to stand in the gap and be loud and proud about what we have. I am looking for people of character and strength who will stand shoulder to shoulder with me in being the bridge between the skeptics and cynics and us. Now I’m not quite so naïve to truly believe that we will educate everyone – that’s madness. But I’m sick and tired of all the negative press, people’s lame opinions based on some outdated image from some unreliable friend they no longer have anything to do with. That is equally madness to me. I am a woman of facts.
Well now you know what I stand for and my “why” in delivering training and inspiration and motivation to fellow Networkers. My job is to encourage you to not only be the best YOU that YOU can be yourself and in your business, but be the change you want to see in this industry.
Let’s do it together. Be part of my ‘army’ that is going to transform the landscape, allowing more and more people to see the benefits of our industry and be agents of change in the world.
