Have you ever heard of this?  To be honest, I certainly hadn’t until quite recently, however I have since discovered that this has got to be one of the most amazing revelations I have come across with respect to changing habits and transforming your life.  Sound simple?  Guess what – it is !!  I absolutely LOVE how some of the absolute simplest things in life can be the most powerful.  We as humans tend to over complicate, over analyse, over think practically everything.  And yet overlook what can sometimes be just plain common sense, logical and obvious.  So today I’m going to share an anecdotal piece about how you can quite literally change the path of your life in 30 days.

I will try and keep this as simple and brief as possible but please do not in anyway read into that as being that what I’m about to share is pious and irrelevant.  I’m going to step this out into a bit of a recipe so that when applies, you will see massive transformation.  And I am not underpinning this – you HAVE to take this seriously.  Let’s get started:

  • Write down precisely what you want to see appear in your life.  Make it as specific as possible.  Remember that a goal without being specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely is just a dream and let’s face it – most of us ‘dream’ of winning the lottery but how many people do you know that have won 1st Division???  Probably no-one.  So what I have just described is a S.M.A.R.T. goal.  Use this criteria to write it down.  DON’T type it – HAND WRITE IT!!!
  • Now you will need to create an affirmation about it.  It needs to be written in the here and now.  I always love to start off affirmations with “I am so happy and grateful now that … “ (thank you #BobProctor @BobProctorLive www.ProctorGallagerInstitute.com )  It has to be written in the now so it tricks your brain into believing that you have already achieved this goal.  Here’s the power in this – Dr Denis Waitley did a test on Olympic athletes some years ago where he attached electrodes to their muscles and asked them to complete their event only in their mind.  What happened was the exact same muscles fired in the exact same sequence as if they were competing in their event for real.  You see the mind can’t tell the difference between what is real and imagined, so if you go there in the mind, the physical representation will more than likely follow.
  • Every morning and night – preferably when you wake up and at night just before you go to sleep (when your conscious mind and sub-conscious mind are most closely aligned) – visualize the goal as having been achieved.  See, feel, hear, smell and sense what your goal is.  Get into the feeling place of having it now.  Do that for at least 10 minutes morning and night.
  • Practise gratitude.  This is one of THE MOST power Law of Attraction principles there is.  I prefer to keep a Gratitude Journal and write in it daily, but you do whatever feels right for you.  You might like to keep a small notepad with you so that during the day every time something happens that you are grateful for, you write it down.  It’s important to be in an attitude of gratitude though.
  • Practise regular meditation.  There’s an abundance of information online about meditation and there are many and varied different ways.  The point here is that it is imperative that you find a way to regularly quieten your mind and just be still.  Aim for around 10 – 20 minutes’ daily and that can broken up into 10 minutes’ in the morning after your visualization or 10 minutes’ at night.  Whatever feels right for you.  But consider your mind is a vacuum cleaner – it picks up all manner of crap and you need to empty the bag every once in a while.  Your mind is the same.  Just general day to day stuff will overwhelm you at some point.  Regular meditation will clean that ‘bag’ and allow you to think clearer, sleep better, feel healthier and control your emotions and negative thoughts more effectively.

Okay, so now you are asking why do all of this?  If you do all of this daily and preferably twice a day for 30 days’, I promise you, the goal you have set for yourself will miraculously appear.  And it may not be precisely what you asked for you, but my guess is that an even better scenario will be presented to you.

I recently learned about how NASA astronauts were given glasses that made everything in their line of vision appear upside down in preparation for an upcoming space flight.  The miracle to this was that after 30 days’ their brains re-programmed their eyes to see everything right way up despite the glasses flipping everything they saw as being upside down.  The ones who took their glasses off before the end of the 30 day period, never experienced this and their vision remain unchanged.

Try it for 30 days.  Really commit to it.  And of course I would love to hear of your successes with is.  As with anything, what is easy to do is equally as easy NOT to do.  If you are not committing to it, what is stopping you?  How badly do you want this goal to be achieved?  If you don’t know, perhaps we need to schedule a coaching session around that.  But do leave me your feedback.  No doubt your experience will assist others.
