Now don’t freak out reading the subject line thinking that I am some crazy anti-vaxxer, conspiracy theorist fascist – because I absolutely am not.  I might be a little bit crazy though …  ?  But I tell you what, there is a lot to be said for having a great re-set of your own …

Last week I was so very pleased to be able to travel down to the beach for nearly a week.  The beach is and always has been my happy place.  I was born 200 metres from the ocean foreshore and went to school and was raised inside of 2km of the beach and holidayed by the beach as a child at the family holiday shack.  I could sit and watch and listen to the waves all day long.  I love kicking off my shoes and paddling around in the shallow warm water.  In fact I’ve loved walking around bare feet rediscovering the earth beneath me.  Last Wednesday morning I visited Deep Blue Hot Springs in Warrnambool for the third time in a year.  What a beautiful place of calm and relaxation.  If you are located here in Victoria Australia, I highly recommend it.  The pools range in temperature from 12 degrees (the cold water plunge pool) to 40 degrees (that’s in Celsius for those on the other side of the world).  It’s the absolute perfect way to start the day (well after meditating anyway) and perfect when it’s cool outside.

What I really didn’t anticipate I was going to encounter was a massive transformation.  A few weeks’ ago I was introduced – via a Bootcamp I did – to Wim Hof.  For those of you who don’t know who he is, he’s a Dutch guy known as the “Ice Man”.  He holds several world records for remaining in ice water for extended periods of time without catching hyperthermia, has completed marathons in the snow and is known as an extreme athlete.  His method introduces you to cold water showers, ice baths, breathing techniques, stretches and yoga practises.  Now initially – coming from South Australia which is the driest State on the driest continent on earth – I scoffed at the mere thought of having a cold shower.  Like, ever.  In fact, being in the snow is my worst nightmare.  I grew up and am used to 40 degree summers by the beach so the one and only time I visited a ski field – in NZ many years’ ago – and strapped some skis to my feet, it ended in tears.  And not the joyous kind.  ?  Not at all an experience I enjoyed one little bit.  Neither did my knees enjoy being forced in directions that they are not normally accustomed to.  However, at the encouragement of my Scandinavian husband I decided to actually give the cold water plunge a try.  And wow!  I can hardly describe the feeling I got from doing it.  Now needless to say I sprinted from that pool back into a 40 degree water pool immediately but the tingling, the vitality, the sense of accomplishment – it was intoxicating!  And you can catch my crazy dash on Instagram.  But I did it again and again and stayed in the freezing water for longer.  After repeating this, I managed to stay in the cold water plunge pool for 40 seconds – doubling the time of my first plunge.  I even managed to come home after being at the Hot Springs and had a 15 second cold shower (day 1 of Wim Hof’s Cold Water Shower Challenge).  I felt insanely awesome!  Like I could do anything.  I got to bed on time that night and despite getting up once during the night for a toilet break, I got up at 5am the following morning feeling like I’ve never felt before.  I felt vital and continue to do so and have now been having cold showers to start my day for 6 days’ out of my 20 day challenge.  So far so good.  ?

So what did I learn about myself doing this?  I learned many things that I just had to share with you.  Firstly, it’s never too late to learn something new.  More importantly, be willing to take on the learnings.  Secondly, just because you don’t like something now, doesn’t mean you won’t love it later on.  Thirdly, sometimes you just have to push yourself way outside of your comfort zone in order to experience the benefits of doing so.  Fourthly, always remain open to new possibilities – never collapse the field of infinite potentiality.  And finally five, the person you were when you started your entrepreneurial journey is never the person who produces the results.  You have to be willing to step back into who you really are.

And what is my challenge to you?  Try something new.  Be open.  Be willing to learn new things.  Get out of your comfort zone – as often as possible.  It will quite literally make you feel invincible (I think most people at the Hot Springs last Wednesday morning heard me – lol).  Don’t ever collapse the field – keep that field open all of the time.  You just never know how that very thing that you thought you hated so much could very well be the one and perhaps only thing that shifts your energy, transforms your perspective, changes the way you see yourself and the world and opens up a whole new way of being not to mention results.  Isn’t that living?  Consider how that could translate into your business?  Your family?  Your relationships?  Your finances?  Your whole life?  If that does not excite you, then seriously check your pulse!  This is LIVING!  I felt more alive doing the hot and cold plunges than I have felt in a very, very long time.  And I quite literally translated that to immediately seeing myself experience a better night of sleep that night, waking up feeling vital the next morning (and I haven’t felt like that in a long time either), I didn’t feel compelled to read the shitty bad news that I did before (I reminded myself the importance of being informed and not inundated).  I quite literally feel like a different person.  Crazy, right?  It’s insane what the body is capable of and from here on in I am going to continue testing this to the next level.  I’m curious now to see what else I can achieve – both personally, in business and with my fitness and tennis.  I’m going ‘all in’ with Wim Hof’s Challenges too.  The morning cold showers, the stretching and the breathing exercises (I’ll leave the Yoga to my classes and teacher).

Get curious today about what you can create.  Be the best version of you.  Manifest the most insane business result.  Procure the most fulfilling relationships.  Live life to its fullest.  Never miss a single thing.  Step back into who you really are.  And don’t think about it too much.  If it’s sky diving – call up and book in without thinking about it.  If it’s trying abseiling or bungy jumping – go do it today.  Don’t put it off.  This is seriously what seriously successful entrepreneurs do all the time.  Look at Richard Branson.  He doesn’t just sit in his office all day – he is out there questioning what is possible for him and his life.  That is what visionaries do.  Is that you?  The top income earners in my company are not only high achievers in business but in life as well as is evidenced by their results.  Remember, our business is just the vehicle.

Are you willing to do whatever it takes to achieve the results you are looking for and life a lifestyle of your dreams, make an impact and a difference, be that agent of change and the demonstration to other, transform lives, leave a legacy and reveal the truth of all of this?  I sure hope so – it’s my credo.

See you next week for more exciting stuff I’m working on.  My first proper You Tube video will be published by the end of this week so I’ll have the link for you early next week.  And it’s looking pretty cool so far – hope you will enjoy it too.  Create something amazing – because you were born to.
